Official Visit Recap: Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa
We hear from the Hawaii defensive end's father about how the midweek official visit was.

2017 defensive end Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa is a player Notre Dame needed to impress over the last two days and according to his father, Tuli Amosa, the Irish did just that.

"Everything went well," Amosa told Irish Sports Daily. "Great people and a great time at Notre Dame."

The Amosa family arrived in South Bend on Wednesday afternoon and got to meet Jack Swarbrick and Father John Jenkins. However, Notre Dame made sure the 6-foot-3, 275-pounder and his family saw everything the school has to offer.

"We got to see the whole school and we got to meet everyone," said Amosa. "My son got a chance to speak to an Engineering professor. We toured the school and we had a chance to go up to the top of Touchdown Jesus. It was awesome up there."

While the family got to see the nuts and bolts of the University, the people made a huge impact on the visit and made the four-star prospect feel like he was back in Hawaii.

"Notre Dame is like the people back home," stated Amosa. "The people are very friendly. Most of the people we came across greeted us with a 'Hello' and it felt very much like home. We call it that "Aloha Spirit'.

Not A Typical Transition Year
ISD expert Jamie Uyeyama talks about the changes at Notre Dame

The drought is over.

After not having anything good happen in recruiting since Aaron Banks committed back in early December, Notre Dame finally received some good news when Jordan Genmark Heath made his commitment public yesterday. It was the first commitment since the massive changes to the Irish coaching staff. Aside from Banks, the other fourteen commitments gave pledged before August of last year.

What is going on now is pretty typical of a transition year. Usually a transition year takes place when a new head coach comes in and replaces the entire staff. This is the rare transition year where it's not a new head coach, but it might as well be considering all of the staff changes.

Three new coordinators. A new linebackers coach. A new (old) defensive line coach. A new wide receivers coach. A new quarterback coach. A new strength and conditioning coach. That is a lot of change in one off season and is uncommon for a program that retains a head coach. So even thought it's not Tyrone Willingham to Charlie Weis or Weis to Brian Kelly, it's pretty similar considering all of the other changes.

Every year here at Irish Sports Daily, our last edition of ISD Intel prior to National Signing Day is centered around our final picks for the upcoming class. Our readers know we don't like making predictions unless we have some concrete information to go on and we refrain from putting out wild guesses just to do so. But we also understand that at this time of year, readers want to know our guesses.

Every year, there are prospects who could go swing either way in the final hours, but with so many new targets on the board this cycle, we're not sure there have ever been this many targets we don't have a great feel on this late.

Are staff selections are listed below, but they certainly aren't all consensus picks. You can follow the Prediction link to see where individual staff members are projecting each prospect HERE

WR Jafar Armstrong Prediction: Notre Dame
The Missouri commit has kept a low profile since receiving interest from other schools in the final weeks, so it's been hard to get a true grasp on what the Kansas native is thinking or leaning toward. But based on Armstrong's actions an official visit to Minnesota last week and an official to South Bend this week it's clear he believes there could be a better option out there for him than Missouri. Some have used the phrase "dream school" when referring to Notre Dame and we're told Armstrong specifically mentioned Notre Dame as a school he hoped to hear from earlier in the process. Are the Irish coming in too late? We don't think so. We'll know for sure following this weekend's visit, but everything we've heard coming into the visit is extremely positive.

Thursday Night Recruiting Update
ISD publisher Mike Frank dropped the scoop on just about all of Notre Dame's remaining targets last night.

Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa: Heard his visit is going very well. Family really like it at ND. Heard they are a very spiritual family, and that should help ND. Myron is a first-class kid. Definite ND fit. I think it comes down to, does he want to go that far from home? Does he feel comfortable with the players? Sounds like it's going well, but again, distance is always tough.

Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah: It's the first day, so that's tough to get a read on. Heard he had a great visit to MSU last weekend. MSU has a much longer relationship with him. Not sure whatever ND can show him for social life midweek will compare to what MSU showed. Heard he's a nice kid. Just too early to tell, but MSU made it tough for ND last weekend.
