It’s been a long season for the Notre Dame football program and the Irish learned they're being dealt another tough blow on Tuesday.

The NCAA announced it is vacating Irish victories from the 2012 and 2013 seasons because of the academic misconduct scandal that rocked the program in 2014.

DaVaris Daniels, Kendall Moore, Ishaq Williams, KeiVarae Russell and Eilar Hardy were all suspended from the program during the fall of 2014 as part of a University investigation into academic impropriety.

The NCAA had been investigating the program in recent months to wrap up its end and the punishment was handed down today.

Notre Dame won 12 games in 2012 and reached the National Championship Game. The Irish another nine games in 2013. The 21 wins will be gone from the record books.
