It's not surprising that it's happening. Notre Dame built up a solid foundation of commitments headed into the season and a brick has been taken away from that foundation now that Pete Werner has de-committed.

Werner pledged way back in the spring after David Adams and Drew White had already joined the class. At that time the the prevailing thought was that the Irish were done or close to it at linebacker. But now that Werner is out, the linebacker board just opened back up again.
