Notre Dame has extended an offer to 2020 Maryland DE Bryan Besee.

The 6-foot-4, 260-pounder from Damascus will be a true national prospect and already has offers from schools like Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, Florida State, Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State and Oklahoma among others. Earlier in the day, he landed an offer from Duke.

Irish assistant Clark Lea was by the school today.

Obviously with an offer sheet like the one he has and will have, it's going to be a task to trim it down. I'm told he's visited several schools already and will hit the road again in the coming months.

I'm also told Notre Dame will certainly be one of the schools he hits relatively soon. In fact, he was trying to get a visit set up for this fall, but it didn't work out.

He's a kid with a 4.0 GPA, so academics are obviously important to him.
