Why didn't ND make an offer and sign him before the Jan 1st bowl or immediately afterwards? Or, is that just hindsight?

The power hour post Elko is crazy the rant about paying him the money when stating that the money wasn't the problem so he would leave anyway. To negative mike about the team you are suppose to love. Not to mention faith you didn't have in them winning the bowl game.
