I wouldn't consider a long-term OL project a huge loss for Notre Dame if you're referencing Ryan Hayes. He has a high ceiling, but there is a long way to go before he is ready to compete for a two-deep spot at Notre Dame or Michigan.

He will likely be recruited over at either school. Hayes is the type of kid that Northwestern does a good job with and ends up as a two-year starter and is in the program for five years. Very similar to Mark Harrell as both played tight end and project on the OL in college.

I will say, in Harry's defense, there just aren't a lot of great OL in this class.

I will agree with you, fisher, if he loses Petit-Frere. That will be one he should get. He's done a lot to get him. Have to wait and see if he will. He's a very key player, and much, much better prospect than Hayes.

But, got to land him.
