We'll have a full story on Princeton sophomore guard Devin Cannady later in the week, but wanted to drop a note on the Mishawaka native here now.

Cannady received some interest from the Irish when they were chasing his older teammate, Demetrius Jackson, but once Jackson made his decision, the interest from Notre Dame seemed to fizzle. He ended up at Princeton and the 6-foot-1, 185-pounder has excelled early in his career.

He averaged 22 minutes a game as a freshman while scoring 11 points a game last season. He's up to 31.5 minutes and 13.1 points a game this year. He can shoot the ball, making 42% of his three-point attempts and 93.8% of his free throws. Cannady had 29 points against Brown and 29 points against Yale this season, drilling 7 three-pointers in each of those games.

We spoke with a Division-I head coach familiar with both Princeton and Notre Dame and will have his thoughts in a full preview soon, but here's what he had to say about Cannady.

"He's got range as soon as he steps over halfcourt. He gets it off really quick. He's really confident. He can't have any space at all because he can really, really shoot it. He's a good player. He was Honorable Mention All-League, he probably should have been Second Team. He's really good."
