The Latest On Taiyon Palmer
We're pretty close to removing Taiyon Palmer from our Target List and I'm told the 2018 Georgia CB could do it for us himself soon. When Palmer elected to schedule an official visit to Clemson instead of Notre Dame this weekend, that seemed like an indication of his interest in the Irish. Notre Dame has worked to try getting an official visit next weekend, but now it seems like a longshot.I'm told even the Clemson official for this weekend is in doubt and that Palmer could have a decision today. Nebraska made a big splash by sending seven assistant coaches for an in-home earlier this month. But NC State goes in-home tonight and one source has the feeling Palmer wants to stay closer to home. If a decision does indeed come tonight, that would seem to favor the Wolf Pack.Regardless, as I said at the top, it looks like Notre Dame will need to continue chasing other options in the secondary.
INTEL: Defensive Board Update
A look at where Notre Dame stands with virtually of its remaining 2018 defensive targets right now.
New Offer: 2019 Archer (Ga.) CB Andrew Booth Jr.
Well, it looks like Notre Dame would love to land the Archer (Ga.) secondary as Andrew Booth Jr. has now been offered by Notre Dame. 2018 cornerback Taiyon Palmer and 2019 safety Jalyn Phillips reported earlier offers from the Irish. The 6-foot, 180-pounder is much like his teammates and holds offers from the likes of Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Duke, Georgia, Michigan, Michigan State, NC State, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vandy and Wisconsin.Junior Highlights https://www.hudl.com/video/3/6199548/5a19b95c4df5dd216483caaa
Lyght, Lea Visiting Top Target
Notre Dame defensive coordinator Clark Lea and defensive backs coach Todd Lyght will be in Georgia today to visit with 2018 Georgia CB Taiyon Palmer today. Palmer is set to take an official to Clemson this weekend, but the Irish are still working to try to score an official the final weekend before National Signing Day.I'm told Palmer and his camp are still seriously considering the Irish, but if they don't make it to South Bend, obviously Notre Dame will need to look elsewhere.
More On Taiyon Palmer
Checked in with a source about 2018 GA CB Taiyon Palmer following yesterday's news that Notre Dame seemed to be trending down with Palmer electing to take an official to Clemson next weekend instead of ND.I'm told the Irish aren't out yet and are still under consideration for an official visit the final weekend before Signing Day.
