Notre Dame football coach Brian Kelly spoke to Jack Nolan following Monday's practice.

On utilizing the new facility:
“It takes the direct sunlight off of you and allows a better teaching environment. It’s a training center. We’re able to get in here and get some good work done situationally. We had overtime today. It gives you the opportunity to include your special teams in it and tactical awareness in these kinds of situations. You’re going need these opportunities if you want to win all your football games.”

On the next two weeks as some game prep will begin on Tuesday:
“We still got a couple more weeks before we play a real game and we’re going to need them. Every day is about developing quarterback and receiver relationships - getting a chance to find out the rotation at running back and continuity on the offensive line and defensive rotations in situational down and distance. There is so much going on. There is a game within the game and even though we’re going to start to include Louisville, there is so much detail work that needs to be done.

“When I look at it, thank goodness we have two more weeks before we open up the first game.”

On Monday night opener:
“You get a couple extra days, but the most important thing for us is the ability to continue to build on the things we’re going to take into the season. We can’t go into the Louisville game and think about it. We have to press play and react.

This is about building that unconscious confidence to go and just play. That’s why there is a lot of work with young receivers and defensive players that are now getting that unconscious confidence.”
