Scouting Report | New Mexico

September 8, 2019

A few years ago Bob Davie’s run at New Mexico was considered a feel good story. After struggling out of the gate, Davie found success with a hybrid triple option offense that had his team as one of the top rushing offenses in the country. The Lobos peaked at 9-4 in 2016 capped off by a win in a bowl game for the first time since 2007.

Things turned very sour from that point on.

The program has not only had back to back 3-9 seasons, he was suspended without pay for 30 days in 2018 over allegations that he physically assaulted players, obstructed a rape investigation, and frequently engaged in racist comments.
