When it’s a rivalry game, throw the records out because they don’t matter.

I don’t actually believe that, but it sounds like it would be fun to say on the set of a pre-game show. I’d bet that someone on NBC’s broadcast will say it before this game.

Sure, the team that’s an underdog gets up to play their rival more than a regular week. But that tired old cliche would suggest that the favorite doesn’t get excited for a game like this.
