BREAKING | Transfer S Isaiah Pryor Chooses Notre Dame

Notre Dame is almost done with recruiting in the Class of 2020, but the Irish have still been active in the transfer market and that activity has paid off as they’ve scored a commitment from Isaiah Pryor, a safety in the portal from Ohio State.

Pryor will enroll at Notre Dame as a graduate student with two years of eligibility after graduating in three years from Ohio State and be eligible to play next season.

The Irish quickly emerged as a serious contender when Pryor entered the portal back in September. He took a visit to South Bend for the USC game a couple weeks ago and immediately scheduled a return visit for this weekend’s game against Virginia Tech so his mother could see the school.

He played in 31 games over three seasons for the Buckeyes, including three this year before entering the portal. He totaled 47 tackles and an interception in his two-plus seasons with the Buckeyes.

While the commitment wasn’t a major surprise, he does represent a major get as a highly-touted former recruit with experience playing big-time college football. Notre Dame loses senior safety Jalen Elliott after this season and fellow safety Alohi Gilman could decide to go pro as well, so Pryor comes in at a need position.

Stay tuned to Irish Sports Daily for more on this breaking news.
