The good news is Notre Dame doesn’t face North Carolina on Saturday afternoon, but the Irish need to prove they can shoot the basketball in the next few weeks before they head to College Park for the ACC/B10 Challenge.

It’s too early in the season to state the weaknesses of Robert Morris, but the Irish are the bigger team for a change. John Mooney should be able to be John Mooney and it will be interesting to see how Juwan Durham responds after battling foul trouble on Wednesday against North Carolina.

If I’m Mike Brey, I’m confident in what I have in Mooney and sophomore point guard Prentiss Hubb, but can TJ Gibbs bring consistency this year? How healthy is Rex Pflueger at the end of the day?

Notre Dame isn’t going to answer all the questions surrounding its offense on Saturday, but getting Nate Laszewski scoring and Dane Goodwin would be a positive. I don’t know what Robby Carmody brings on the offensive end at this point in his career. He has a nice shot and showed the will to drive the lane, but can he finish consistently at the rim and can he shoot the three? It’s way too early to say one way or another, but if Carmody can find a role by Maryland game, it could be a big development.

Prediction: Notre Dame 75 Robert Morris 64
