When it comes to tight ends, Notre Dame has proven it goes after the best wherever they are.

2022 Texas tight end Donovan Green‍ would qualify as such and the Irish have already been in contact.

Notre Dame assistant Terry Joseph dropped by Dickinson High School last month to check in on the 6-foot-4, 211-pounder.

“He was saying how it’s a really nice school to go to and he said the graduation rate is almost 100 percent and there’s a small enrollment, so if I was able to go there, I would get to know my teachers good,” Green said. “They like how my film looks and they’re recruiting me.”

Green, who already has offers from schools like Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Alabama, Georgia and LSU among others, said the Irish also made it known they will continue to be in touch.

Green doesn’t know a ton about Notre Dame yet, but said “of course” he has interest.

“I haven’t done my research yet, but I’m going to do it,” he said. “My priority is what the atmosphere is when I get there and how I’m going to be used in the offense. That’s what I look for in every school.”

College scouts have told him they like his complete game at the position.

“How smooth I am in my routes and how I can be spread out and put in any position,” he said of the feedback he’s received. “Even though I’m fluid in my catching and route-running, I can still get down to block.”

He did have the chance to hit the road during the fall.

“When the football season was still going, I went to A&M, Oklahoma and UT,” he said. “I’m pretty sure I’m going to LSU around March. I don’t have anything set for now and I don’t know if I’m going to get anywhere else, but I might.”
