With schools being closed and recruiting being halted, everyone involved with the world of college football recruiting involved is having to deal with change, although some more than others.

Top 2021 California cornerback Ceyair Wright‍ wasn’t impacted by the closing of Loyola High School in Los Angeles.

“I’m working right now, so I’m not in school,” Wright says. “It’s actually helped me because since I’m away from school, I have to do school by myself away from everybody, so now everybody is on the same schedule as me.”

Wright will appear in the role of LeBron James’ son in upcoming Space Jam 2 movie and is currently shooting a new TV show.

As for recruiting, it’s definitely made an impact on Wright, who has scholarship offers from schools like Notre Dame, USC, Stanford, Oregon, Arizona, Arizona State, Texas, Oklahoma, Baylor, Northwestern, Nebraska, Maryland and Duke among others.

“All of the visits I had planned out, I don’t know what I’m going to do,” Wright explains. “I know they have to check back and see if they’re going to open the campuses again in April. I had a lot of visits scheduled coming up. Since everything is shut down, I don’t know if I’m going to be able to get to those schools or if I’m going to have to push them all back or what’s happening.

“Last week, I was going to go to Oregon. This weekend, I was going to go to Texas, Texas A&M and Baylor. Next weekend, I was going to go to Arizona State and then Florida State. I was planning on going to Notre Dame too.”

Wright said he was planning to get to South Bend and Northwestern sometime after the Florida State trip. But outside of cancelling those trips, not much has changed and he says he isn’t feeling any pressure from any schools to make any decisions.

“Contact hasn’t ceased, visits have just been put on pause,” he says. “It just depends on when things are opened back up. I still want to get to visit all of those schools, but it all just depends really.”

The 6-foot, 170-pounder visited South Bend back in December and has remained in contact with the staff at Notre Dame.

“They just want me to come up to the campus again,” he says.

Even with the interruption, he feels good about where he is with the recruiting process.

“I don’t think it’s stressful because I still have good ideas of the schools, I just really wanted to be able to see them. I still think I’m going to be able to see them.

“Everything is going to work itself out in the end. I know that already.”
