It's graduation weekend at Notre Dame and while the University Commencement Ceremony will be online instead of on-campus, the football program is making sure its graduates are recognized.

Notre Dame has started to release videos for each graduate and as their position coach writes a letter to them.

Yes, some will be back in 2020, but it doesn't change the fact they are getting recognized for likely the biggest accomplishment of their life.

Defensive line coach Mike Elston took the time to write a letter to defensive end Daelin Hayes to congratulate the Michigan native and remind him there is still more work to be done.

Dear Daelin,

This is Coach Elston. When I first met you, it was clear you were a young man who knew what he wanted.

You set high goals for yourself and even though you've had adversity, you've crushed them. Your work ethic and talent is matched only by your commitment to succeed in the classroom.

Today, you've crushed ye another one of your many goals. You're graduating from the University of Notre Dame.

I'm proud of you, Daelin. I'm excited for us to get back to work this season and, with your help, lead our defense to a championship season.

Congratulations and Go Irish.

Hayes redshirted last fall after tearing his labrum in his shoulder in the fourth game against Virginia.

The 6-foot-3, 266-pounder has played in 41 games for the Fighting Irish during his career and has started 12.

Hayes has recorded 80 tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss, 6.0 sacks, four forced fumbles and two forced fumbles in his career.

Notre Dame's graduates will have the opportunity to celebrate graduation next spring on-campus.
