Notre Dame LB Named to Butkus Award Watch List

Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah has been named to several preseason All-American teams, but on Monday, the Notre Dame linebacker got more recognition. 

Owusu-Koramoah was named to the 2020 Butkus Award Watch List, which is presented annually to the nation's top linebacker. 51 linebackers make the watch list in honor of Dick Butkus' jersey number.

In 2019, the Virginia native led the Irish with 80 tackles and 13.5 tackles for loss. He also chipped in 5.5 sacks, two fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles. 

The semifinalists are expected to be named on November 2, finalists November 24 and the winners on or before December 8. 

Owusu-Koramoah was named last week to the Bednarik Watch List, which is given to the most outstanding defensive player in college football.
