Notre Dame offensive lineman Liam Eichenberg briefly spoke to a member of the Irish media team likely following practice this week.

The 6-foot-6, 305-pounder is part of a six-man returning core for the Irish offensive line and Eichenberg takes pride in following footsteps of some of the NFL's best.

"Camp is going well," Eichenberg stated. "The mentality is hard-nosed guys and we're trying to finish every single play, as Notre Dame nation knows, the offensive line - it's something we take pride in.

"Especially after the guys who have come through here, Zack Martin, Mike McGlinchey, Quenton Nelson. We're here to work every single day with our heads down and to get after it."

Eichenberg was also pleased with how the offense has developed despite the challenges of working through a pandemic.

"The offense is doing very well," said Eichenberg. "Ian Book is back. The offensive line is back. There is a lot of guys stepping up. Ben Skowronek, a graduate student, came in and is doing really well.

"The running backs - Kyren Williams is having a great camp. The offense is rolling. It's been good."
