One-Time Transfer Rule, Lifting Of Dead Period Coming?
Reports came from The Athletic’s Nicole Auerbach on Wednesday that the NCAA has approved the One-Time Transfer Legislation and that the dead period will indeed be lifted at the end of May.

The One-Time Transfer rule is a polarizing one that could cause major ripples throughout college athletics.

We spoke with several sources for their thoughts on it.

What Could One-Time Transfer Rule Mean For Notre Dame?

Top 2022 CB Sets ND Official
Nikai Martinez has already been to South Bend once and the Florida cornerback is set to return provided the dead period is lifted as expected for the month of June.

Clemson and South Carolina could be the Irish’s biggest competition at this point.

The Irish Coming After 2023 Michigan DE
2023 Cass Tech defensive end Jalen Thompson said Notre Dame is the school recruiting him the hardest at the moment.

Thompson, who has offers from schools like Notre Dame, Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, Pitt and Georgia among others, stays in regular touch with Irish defensive line coach Mike Elston.

“He’s just telling me that he wants me to break the record of being from Cass Tech and coming to play for Notre Dame. He’s a good coach and an exciting coach. He loves when you yell and stuff.”

2023 TE/DE Could Be Busiest Prospect In America In June
If the dead period is indeed lifted in June, 2023 Minnesota tight end Jaxon Howard is going to start making up for lost time.

Howard has plans to hit 26 schools for unofficial visits in just 16 days on the road.

Notre Dame is scheduled to receive a visit during the early portion of that trip and the Irish’s history producing tight ends certainly has his attention.

Top 2023 Defender Expecting To Get Back To ND
Brenan Vernon was the very first prospect in the Class of 2023 to receive an offer from the Irish. The Ohio defensive end visited South Bend for a game back in 2019 and said he “definitely” intends to get back soon.

“I’m planning on visiting Notre Dame and Ohio State this summer. I’m waiting on word from some other schools too. I’ll definitely stop by Notre Dame.”

The Irish, the Buckeyes and Michigan have emerged as the schools reaching out to Vernon most.

A Name To Watch At Receiver
2022 East Robertson (Tenn.) receiver Taylor Groves recently decommitted from Michigan and Notre Dame has been in consistent contact over the last two weeks.

Blake Fisher, TaRiq Bracy and Jordan Botelho Trending Up?
Notre Dame isn’t letting the media view practice this spring, but some things are becoming clear as the Irish are halfway through the spring.

Early enrollee offensive lineman Blake Fisher is getting meaningful reps and it’s not because he needs to have fun. Notre Dame’s secondary has talent and could three cornerbacks be emerging?
