Last season was Brian Kelly's 25th season as a head coach in college football. He's only had two seasons where his team has lost more games than they won. Not only he is not used to losing, he's not really used to having to make major fixes to his program. What is going on this off season is completely unique for him.

He has hired coaches he had no previous working relationship with. He had to let go friends and colleagues that he worked with when he first became a head coach back in 1991.
