Notre Dame Hosting 2024 Illinois Duo

Notre Dame will host a pair of 2024 running backs from Illinois’ Bishop McNamara High School on Saturday.

Tony Phillips has offers from Syracuse, Tennessee and Florida Atlantic among others while his teammate, Jaydon Wright, has offers from Syracuse and Florida Atlantic.

“This past summer I had a great time at the Skills Summer Camp, meeting some of the coaches and players from all over,” the 6-foot, 230-pound Wright said.

“I was invited to game this past season, so I am looking forward to getting back on campus.”

“I like the fan base, the environment and I like the coaches, especially my guy Coach Tommy Rees. It feels like it’s just a good environment to be in.”

Phillips is a 5-foot-6, 165-pound speedster.

“Coach Rees told me he likes how I run,” said Phillips. “He told my coach he likes how I run the ball.

“I’m hoping to meet the rest of the staff, new people and just spend time on campus for a little bit.”

Wright is also looking forward to the chance to visit with the coaches.

“I am very excited for the trip I can’t wait to get on campus and meet the coaches face-to-face finally.”

Neither seem to be in any major rush to make a decision, but Phillips said he has an idea of what he’s looking for.
