Photos | Notre Dame Athletics at Boys & Girls Clubs of SJC Juneteenth Event

Notre Dame athletics made a trip to the Boys and Girls Clubs of St. Joseph County for Monday's Juneteenth celebration. 

Players, coaches and staff members from multiple Notre Dame athletic teams took more than two hours of their day to give time to the local community at the O.C. Carmichael Jr. Youth Center in South Bend. 

The event included all kinds of outside games where Notre Dame’s student-athletes interacted with the local kids and inside, the youth were able to have conversations with Irish players as well as shoot some hoops. 

Notre Dame football coach Marcus Freeman spoke at the event and then took about 20 minutes to play football with a large group of kids, players and even his oldest son, Vinny. 

Irish quarterback Tyler Buchner was present and involved in a heated one-on-one game, while Notre Dame guard Dane Goodwin took part in an intense game of catch. The Notre Dame women’s basketball team was present, including head coach Niele Ivey. Mike Brey and Anthony Solomon were also in attendance.
