“We want some guys that can change the game on offense with elite speed.”

Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly stated he wanted speed at his National Signing Day press conference and the Irish have landed one of the nation’s fastest players in 2018 receiver Braden Lenzy.

The four-star prospect has been verified running a 4.47 40-yard dash and a 4.26 shuttle.

The Oregon native visited Notre Dame for Junior Day and gave the visit glowing reviews, but it was the people that made the difference for the speedster.

“The one thing Notre Dame did better than anyone was just that everyone there knew who I was,” said Lenzy. “Whether it was the person opening a door, recruiting coordinator, a recruit or current player, basically everyone knew who I was. I felt that was pretty special.”

Kelly also made sure to let the 6-foot, 165-pounder know Notre Dame not only wanted him in the program, but it was a priority to get him.

“He made it clear that I am a top target,” Lenzy said. “He explained one of their focuses was to go after me and I appreciated that. I feel a lot of coaches avoid the topic of where you stand.

Lenzy joins Micah Jones as the 2018 receiver commits for Notre Dame.
