Whether it is 31 (ahem, 38) nothing or in recruiting, Notre Dame fans always feel good when they beat Michigan. That's what makes the commitment from Rover Shayne Simon (Jersey City, NJ) that much sweeter.

Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan staff wanted Simon to come play at Michigan and play the same spot Jabrill Peppers did. And the Irish still beat the Wolverines for his commitment.

Beating Michigan is really only the tip of the iceberg, though, as to why Irish fans should be excited about Simon.
