In year three of his Notre Dame coaching tenure, Irish head coach Brian Kelly seemed to be on his way to becoming a Notre Dame coaching legend.

He led an improbable team who finished just 8-5 the season before to a 12-1 season and a trip to the National Championship game.  

While the Irish didn’t show well that night, they certainly did the entire 2012 season.  Everything looked to be moving in the right direction.

And then….Manti Te’o….
