Date: November 13th

Time: 7:00 p.m. ET

Where: Purcell Pavilion, Notre Dame, Ind.

TV: ACC Network Extra and on WatchESPN

QUICK FACTS

- Monday night’s game starts the 2017 Maui Invitational as it’s a regional contest. The Mountaineers faced Marquette on Friday an will play North Florida and York to finish off its regional slate.

Stats for Monday night’s game will not count towards the tournament games held in Maui, but the outcome of the game will be reflected in the final tournament record.

- This will be the third meeting between the two programs. Notre Dame is 2-0 against Mount St. Mary’s. In 2003, the Irish won 78-64 and in 2014, Notre Dame won by a score of 93-67. Both games were at Purcell Pavilion.

- Notre Dame is 18-0 in season openers under head coach Mike Brey and won by an average score of 83.3-55.3. Saturday’s season-opening win at DePaul was the first time Notre Dame had opened on the road.

FUN FACTS

- Notre Dame was the only AP Top 25 team to play a true road game to start the season. Three programs played on a neutral floor.

- Notre Dame made eight-consecutive three-point field goals in the second half against DePaul. The Irish finished 9-of-12 from three-point range in the second half.

- Sophomore guard TJ Gibbs scored a career-high 21 points in 38 minutes on Saturday.

- Senior point guard Matt Farrell has hit a three-pointer in 27 consecutive games.

- Senior forward Bonzie Colson has 701 career rebounds and is the 12th Irish player to reach 1,200 points and 700 rebounds.

Preview

Bonzie Colson should have his way on the inside against Mount St. Mary’s as the Mountaineers don’t have much size on the interior. In fact, Mount St. Mary’s doesn’t have much size on the perimeter either.

Senior guard Junior Robinson is just 5-foot-5, 150-pounds, but he’s the heart and soul of the Mountaineers squad. As a junior, Robinson averaged 14.1 points per game and dropped 20 to open the year against Marquette on Friday.

While Robinson might not be a Grayson Allen or Joel Barry II, it will be a good test for Notre Dame’s guards to slow down an explosive scoring threat.

Notre Dame should win this game with ease as they are much bigger and the athleticism of the Irish should be noticeable from the start. I'd love to see Mike Brey get Martinas Geben some offensive touches to continue building his confidence. Geben isn't going to average double-digits in points on the year, but the big man is confident and Notre Dame will need a boost coming up with the Maui Invitational schedule, Michigan State and Indiana on the horizon.

Prediction: Notre Dame 86 Mount St. Mary’s 61
