We told you a few days ago that 2020 Round Rock (Texas) receiver Collin Sullivan‍ had some interest in Notre Dame, but the 6-foot-1, 175-pounder’s parents also have some history in South Bend.

“My parents met at Notre Dame,” Sullivan told Irish Sports Daily. “They were at some camp or something like that to get ready for school.

“My dad went to Kansas for Law, and he also went to Howard. My mom went to Indiana.”

Sullivan has also been on campus, but it was before his offers from Houston, Oregon and SMU.

“Two summers ago, I went up there for a camp,” recalled Sullivan. “I was only there one day, but I got a tour around the campus. Ron Powlus showed us around.

“I remember the campus and how beautiful everything was at Notre Dame.”

Academics are something important to Sullivan, and he was able to get a feel for the education Notre Dame brings to the table.

“At the time, I didn’t think of it, but when it comes to academics, I want to go into sports psychology,” explained Sullivan. “I remember asking questions about it, and they actually had a psychology building. It’s right by the football stadium too.

“The opportunities at Notre Dame are great. I definitely want to get back up there.”

Texas hosted Sullivan for Junior Day last weekend, and after a big sophomore season, the Round Rock native could be on the cusp of blowing up.

“It’s been a great start and come earlier than I had thought,” stated Sullivan. “There is so much more work to do. I still have two years of high school to develop.

“I remember my first offer from SMU. It was like the best day of my life. My mom was crying, and y dad was so happy. It was a great moment. It’s a moment I won’t forget. It’s a blessing, and I’m grateful it has started this early.”

An offer from Texas would be a big one for Sullivan as he’s lived around Austin for many years.

“I was born in Maryland, and my dad got promoted, so we moved down to Austin,” Sullivan said. “I’ve been here for 10 years.

“I definitely would consider myself a Texas kid.”
When it comes to college, Sullivan is in no rush to make a decision, but he doesn’t have a problem leaving Texas if the fit is right.

“I haven’t had a problem with going far away,” explained Sullivan. “The thing about Texas is its literally 25 minutes away. It’s still home. I haven’t really had problems with going far away for college.”

Sullivan will now look to set some unofficial visits in the spring and summer.

“I don’t’ have any visits planned right now,” said Sullivan. “I’ve talked about going to Oklahoma this summer to camp and maybe the Spring Game. In the summer, I would like to get to some camps out of state.

“I want to get to Notre Dame and maybe Michigan.”
