Prince Dorbah Intrigued By Notre Dame Offer

February 18, 2019

2020 Highland Park (Texas) defensive end Prince Dorbah‍ added an offer from Notre Dame last week as defensive line coach Mike Elston gave him the news on Thursday.

The 6-foot-4, 215-pounder admitted the relationship with Notre Dame is new, but it’s one he’s looking forward to cultivating.

“Coach Elston was on the phone and we were just talking,” Dorbah stated. “He let me know they were going to offer me. We continued to get to know each other and talk after that.

“The whole coaching staff has been following me on Twitter for a whole, but it was last week when they reached out.”

Dorbah also admitted he doesn’t know too much about Notre Dame at this point. Freshman defensive end NaNa Osafo-Mensah is a good friend, so Irish fans can expect Dorbah to be filled in about Notre Dame pretty quickly.

“I know it’s a Catholic school and I have some friends who go there,” explained Dorbah. “I know it’s cold, but I don’t know much about the school and that’s why I want to visit.

“It’s a great school overall. They have a good football team and great academics.”

The Dallas native has offers from some of the top programs in the country, so Notre Dame will have its work cut out to get into the race, but they will have a chance as Dorbah does want to visit South Bend.

“The schools recruiting the hardest would be Arkansas, LSU, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas,” Dorbah said. “I’ll probably be taking a couple of visits in the spring and go to some spring games. I’ll take some more visits until I take some official visits in the summer. I’m not sure yet.”

As far as what Dorbah is looking for in a school, it’s going to come down to comfort and relationships he has with the coaching staff.

“The majority of what I’m looking for is if I can see myself there,” said Dorbah. “I want to see if I have a relationship with the people there. I want to get to know the coaching staff and have trust in them.”
