Going into the previous offseason, the number one goal for Notre Dame’s offense was to fix/develop Brandon Wimbush as a passer. It could have been a passing of the torch with the way Ian Book played in the Citrus Bowl, but the coaching staff put a lot of their focus into helping Wimbush become the player they thought he could be.

The offense had to replace three pieces on offense, McGlinchey, Nelson and Adams, who were the most valuable when it came to producing one of the top rushing offenses in college football.
