Notre Dame offensive line coach Jeff Quinn has recruiting rolling in 2021 as Avon (Ind.) four-star Blake Fisher‍ has committed to the Fighting Irish.

The 6-foot-6, 325-pounder chose Notre Dame over the likes of Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, LSU, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, Penn State, Purdue, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt, Washington State and Wisconsin.

Fisher felt comfortable around Quinn from day one and it has led to an extremely tight bond.

“It’s great,” stated Fisher. “He’s still in the same position and a great guy. He’s still a father figure to me. The relationship has got a lot better and we’re a lot closer.”

Quinn has become a significant part of Fisher’s life away from the field, but also on the field. Fisher takes Quinn’s advice to heart and it has allowed him to become a better player.

“He pushes me even though he’s at the collegiate level,” explained Fisher. “He knows my potential and knows I have a big future ahead of me. He’s like a father figure in a way from a distance.”

The relationship with Quinn is important, but the academics at Notre Dame were equally crucial as Fisher wants to receive a valuable degree.

“That’s number one,” said Fisher. “Without academics, you’re not playing football.”

Fisher will now join IMG Academy (Fla.) offensive lineman Greg Crippen‍ in the 2021 offensive line haul.

“Big Greg texts me every now and then to check in to see where I’m at,” Fisher said. “He’s a great guy. He’ll be a great asset for Notre Dame in the upcoming years.”
