Tosh Baker‍ didn’t need to take an official visit to Notre Dame before he knew that was the spot for him.

The 2020 Arizona offensive lineman committed to the Irish back in May after a pair of unofficial visits to South Bend.

The 6-foot-8, 275-pounder returned to campus for his official visit this past weekend and was blown away.

“It was amazing,” Baker told Irish Sports Daily. “It left me speechless, beyond words. Me and my family had a great time and truly enjoyed our visit.”

“I’ve been there twice before this weekend, so I’d pretty much seen everything.”

Baker said the biggest part of the weekend was getting to meet and hang out with his fellow 2020 commits, offensive lineman Michael Carmody and running back Chris Tyree. Because of their shared position, Baker was able to spend a bunch of time with Carmody.

“He’s awesome,” Baker said of Carmody. “Him and his family are great people. He’s a great athlete too. His brother is on campus, playing basketball for Notre Dame, so he already has a little bit of that connection too. It’s good. It’s perfect. We’re going to be doing a lot of stuff these next couple years.”

The Phoenix native also loved the opportunity to build relationships with the current occupants of Notre Dame’s offensive line room.

“It’s a brotherhood,” he said. “It’s truly a family and they told me and Michael that when we got there. They told us we were family now and they’re going to be loyal to us. We’re already being accepted into that bond.”

“I got to hang out and see everybody this weekend, so that was perfect.”

Irish offensive line coach Jeff Quinn gave Baker and Carmody a sneak peek of how things are done.

“Coach Quinn talked us through his app that you can watch film and drill tape and all of that stuff,” said Baker. “We don’t have access to it now, obviously, but it’s what the players use now to get better through constantly watching film.”

Baker also did some recruiting while in town, specifically with 2020 Kentucky cornerback Landen Bartleson, who ended up committing on Monday.

“I talked to him a lot this weekend and just told him it’s the best place in the country,” Baker explained. “It’s the best school in the country in my opinion and I told him he should hop on board and he did.”

The Pinnacle High School star plans on returning for a game in the fall and has the Oct. 12 contest against USC circled.

“I know that’s going to be a big one, so I’m trying to make it there,” he said.

Not that he needs to see anything else after this past weekend.

“It reconfirmed it and even strengthened it. I’m 100 percent Notre Dame. It’s a perfect fit for me and the best school in the country in my opinion.”
