The Latest | 2025 CB Mark Zackery
As noted at ISD last week in our Heat Check, 2025 Ben Davis (Ind) cornerback Mark Zackery IV was focused on a couple of schools in Cincinnati and Notre Dame as April came to a close. The four-star prospect visited both last month and in talking to multiple folks, we believe Zackery is nearing a decision as the calendar has flipped to May. Notre Dame has been the team to beat over the last several months, but Cincinnati has made a significant push led by Kerry Coombs and some close ties to the university. The Irish remain in a strong position if Zackery's decision comes sooner rather than later. If this thing gets pushed into June, where Zackery can take official visits, then it's game on for everyone. Cincinnati can be patient. Notre Dame can be patient to a point with Dallas Golden and Cree Thomas in the class. The Irish have planned on taking three cornerbacks so it's a race for that last spot with Trystan Haynes and Jahmir Joseph having set officials to Notre Dame. Zackery has had the green light since being offered and will have the chance to close out the cornerback haul if he wants to. Marcus Freeman, Mike Mickens and Chad Bowden have thrived in these situations and it appears they are close to getting this one done and need to beat out their former employer. https://www.hudl.com/video/3/16078194/657fbd5cf31e1f07dc4a9e25Notre Dame Fighting Irish 40oz. National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a Irish Sports Daily rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the Irish Sports Daily Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide Irish Sports Daily readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.
