Tracking the Trail: Spring Evaluation Period
Notre Dame coaches hit the road starting on Monday (April 24) as part of the Spring Evaluation Period. We will comprise a list of who they visited. I think a running will be more organized versus daily so you can see the priority (offers/prospects) a little easier. 2017 SigneesWR Michael Young 2018 CommitsRB Markese Stepp WR Braden Lenzy DL Jayson Ademilola DL Justin Ademilola DB Derrik Allen 2018 OffersRB Master Teague III RB Lavonte Valentine WR Kamryn BabbWR Chase Cota WR Bryson Jackson WR Lawrence Keys III WR L'Christian Smith WR Amon-Ra St. BrownTE Pat Freiermuth TE Mustapha Muhammad TE George Takacs OL Ryan Hayes DT Ja'mion Franklin DE Thomas Booker DE Daniel Carson DE Richard Jibunor DE Jayson Oweh DE Tyreke Smith LB Brian Asamoah LB Bo Calvert LB Dallas GantDB Shayne Simon DB Houston Griffith DB D'Angelo Mckenzie CB DJ Johnson CB Donte Burton ATH Joe Wilkins Jr. 2018 Prospects WR Daniel Arias WR Cam Jones WR Cameron Brown TE Anthony Torres TE Tommy Tremble OL Jacob Isaia DL Isaiah Mullens CB Trey Morrison CB Taj Ward DB Michael Dowell DB Javon Terry ATH Dashon Bussell 2019 OffersQB JT Daniels QB Grant Gunnell QB Bo Nix DE Jason Bargy DT Jacob Lacey DE Kayvon Thibodeaux LB Nana Osafo-Mensah CB DJ Turner II DB Litchfield Ajavon DB Brian Williams ATH Joshua Calvert ATH Bru McCoy 2019 Prospects QB/ATH Luke McCaffrey QB Ty Evans RB John Emery Jr. RB Rahmir Johnson WR Craig Young WR Quinton Torbor DL Rodas Johnson CB Jalen Perry ATH Jashon Watkins
Notre Dame Staff in Columbus
Notre Dame area recruiter Mike Elston was in Columbus (Ohio) to see 2018 linebacker Brian Asamoah. The three-star prospect picked up an offer from Notre Dame this spring, but saw contact die down shortly after. The 6-foot-1, 208-pounder is one of the more athletic linebackers in the 2018 class and Notre Dame getting him on campus this summer will be telling. The 6-foot-4, 285-pounder holds offers from Bowling Green, Cincinnati, and Eastern Kentucky, but it's a matter of time before he ends up blowing up. "We caught up after he left," stated Mullens. "He was just talking about the school, football, and stuff." Mullens holds offers from several MAC programs, Iowa State, and Wisconsin. The three-star prospect said he might end up camping at Notre Dame this summer, but nothing was set. Junior Highlightshttps://www.hudl.com/video/3/4105649/5849e640dfd8b828c0d4df70
The Opening Regionals: Cleveland
Just a heads up, Jamie and I will be in Cleveland tomorrow. The main event will be 2018 five-star Notre Dame quarterback commit Phil Jurkovec as he will look to qualify for the Elite 11. It's also a loaded field with some of Notre Dame's top prospects. WR L'Christian Smith, OL Jackson Carman, DE Tyreke Smith, LB Brian Asamoah, LB Dallas Gant, and Notre Dame LB commit Bo Bauer will be working out from the 2018 class. In 2019, WR Mershawn Rice, OL Trevor Keegan, OL/DL Isaiah Gibson, DT Jowon Briggs (offer), DT Jacob Lacey (offer), DE Zach Harrison (offer), and 2019 CB Moses Douglass. I am pretty excited to see Harrison go against some of top offensive lineman to see where he is in his development. The athleticism is clearly there, but I look forward to hearing about here Jamie thinks about his hands and technique. Briggs and Lacey could end up being the future of the interior of the Notre Dame defensive line, so it will be interesting to see exactly how they stack up against each other. Other matchups of interest would be Carman vs Smith, Ohio State RB commit Jaelen Gill going up against Bauer, Asamoah, and Gant. Some other names we will be watching: 2018 DE Isaiah Mullens, 2018 LB Jesse Luketa, and 2018 ATH Dashon Bussell.

2018 Ohio DE Has Irish Interest
Isaiah Mullens likely would have been in South Bend last week had he not had his own playoff game, but he hopes to make it to Notre Dame eventually.
