The Opening: Day One
OK, we're settled in down in Texas. The Opening kicks off today and we'll be headed over to The Star - the Dallas Cowboys facility - soon. Today seems like a relatively light day, at least according to the schedule. The QBs/WRs/TE are the only ones scheduled to work out and then there will be interviews afterward. I'm not sure if other players will be around or doing any testing or anything. WR Cornelius Johnson will be one guy we're watching closely. There always seems to be some guys who aren't considered legit targets, who re-emerge at events like this, so we'll also be looking for that. Other players who had ND interest at least at one point we'll be watching include WR Elijah Higgins, WR Kyle Ford and TE Jude Wolfe. Will check in when we arrive.

Two New 2019 WR Offers Out
Notre Dame receiver a priority on Tuesday as 2019 receivers Elijah Higgins and Demariyon Houston picked up offers .Higgins, a native of Austin (Texas) has absolutely blown up in the month of January as the 6-foot-3, 215-pounder now holds offers from the likes of Baylor, Columbia, Houston, Louisville, Northwestern, Princeton, Rice, SMU, Texas, Texas A&M and Texas Tech. Houston is out of Oklahoma City and holds offers from the likes of Colorado, Iowa State, Kansas, Memphis, Ole Miss, Missouri, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech. The 6-foot, 165-pounder told me earlier this month that a Notre Dame offer would put them in his top group. National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a Irish Sports Daily rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the Irish Sports Daily Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide Irish Sports Daily readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Notre Dame and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Notre Dame and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
