Quick Note | 2020 RB Tirek Murphy Jr.
Spoke to a source late last night and 2020 running back Tirek Murphy Jr. continues to be high on Notre Dame, while those around him might be even higher than the four-star prospect. The Murphy camp is aware Chris Tyree somewhat controls the board right now and they seem fine with it. Will Notre Dame decide to take two running backs? That seems to be up in the air at this stage, but the Irish have been aggressive in recruiting other backs. I do think guys like Cullen Coleman, DeaMonte Trayanum and Israel Abanikanda remain intriguing options to Notre Dame because they have ability on the defensive side of the ball. As for Murphy, he'll come out with a top five soon and I expect Notre Dame to be on that list along with Oregon and then I wouldn't be shocked to see him try to campus on an official visit earlier than the fall.

2020 RB Tirek Murphy Jr. Names Top 16
2020 New York running back Tirek Murphy Jr. listed his Top 16 on Thursday morning. Arizona State, Duke, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oregon, Pitt, Purdue, Rutgers, South Carolina, Syracuse. Tennessee and Texas A&M will battle it out for the next cut. Murphy has always wanted to take official visits in the fall and if Notre Dame isn't full at running back, I fully expect him to get on campus for one this fall. https://www.hudl.com/video/3/8987850/5bc2a95e5797a107d0c0c43e

National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a Irish Sports Daily rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the Irish Sports Daily Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide Irish Sports Daily readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.
