Coach "Can't Speak Highly Enough" Of 2022 Notre Dame Hoops Target Isaac Traudt

Ryan Reeder has high praise for Isaac Traudt‍ as a basketball player, but that’s nothing compared to what the co-director of the Lincoln Supreme Court AAU program thinks about Traudt as a person.

“Man, if you had a son and he grew up to be like Isaac Traudt personality-wise, you would have knocked it out of the park,” Reeder says of the standout 2022 Nebraska swingman.

“When you talk to him, you think you’re talking to an adult. He’s wise beyond his years. He’s very mature. He’s also a very gracious kid.”

Traudt has blown up over the past several weeks, seeing several scholarship offers come his way from schools like Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Nebraska, Creighton, Iowa State, Virginia Tech, Minnesota and several others.

The Grand Island Senior High School standout appreciates all of the effort Reeder and others have done in getting his name out there and has gone out of his way to make sure they know it.

Reeder got married last month and Traudt displayed that maturity.

“He sent me a long text out of the blue on my wedding day and just being thankful for what we’re trying to do for him,” the coach says. “That speaks volumes of what kind of kid he is. He’s very, very gracious. Very thankful.

“He’s just an awesome kid. I can’t speak highly enough about his personality and what type of kid he is.”

The offer from Notre Dame was certainly one Traudt appreciated.

“I know when he got the call from Notre Dame that he was very, very excited,” says Reeder. “Just the prestige of playing at a school like Notre Dame and some of the things they do offensively, I know could fit his style.

“He was very excited and I know I was too; to have someone like that have that offer out there for him. I know Notre Dame could be a fit just like a lot of other places. I don’t want to say it’s overwhelming, but it’s really gratifying for him as a young man to have something like is in place for him.”
