The national hype train for DeShone Kizer started before the first snap of this season. In a season preview piece for college football on NFL.com, NFL Draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah made the bold prediction that Kizer would win the Heisman trophy. From there the hype train continued to pick up steam.

A brilliant performance against Texas in the season opener fed the hype even more and people were already starting to buy into it.
