Brian Kelly hinted at Notre Dame landing a graduate transfer soon and on Saturday, soon seemed arrived.

Former Michigan wide receiver Freddy Canteen has committed to Notre Dame to finish out his college career, according to his Twitter account. Canteen played for the Wolverines in 2014 and 2015, but wasn’t on the roster in 2016.

A source on Notre Dame's side of things was unaware of anything official, but said "it's moving in that direction," while Canteen retweeted reports that he had indeed committed.

Canteen played in 16 games for the Wolverines, catching six passes for 22 yards and a touchdown. Since he didn't play last season, he would potentially have two years of eligibility remaining.

He was a four-star prospect coming out of Eastern Christian in Maryland with the 2014 recruiting class. He enrolled early at Michigan and also had offers from Maryland, Tennessee, UConn and Hawaii among others.
