The recruiting process may still be in the early stages for Kiandrea Barker‍, but that doesn’t mean things are just getting started for the 2025 Texas running back.

In fact, The Woodlands star (pictured above) received his first offer – from Pittsburgh – over a year ago.

It certainly picked up throughout 2022 and the 6-foot, 190-pound sophomore currently holds eight scholarship offers.

“It's going well,” Barker told Irish Sports Daily. “It is just now starting to go big for me. As far as colleges talking to me and offering me, it's just starting to get to that point.”

In addition to Pitt, his offer sheet currently includes Penn State, Florida State, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, SMU, Missouri and Purdue.

“I'm real glad, but at the same time, you've got to be humble because not every player can do that,” he said. “But also, there are more players like me that could have these offers. So I'm just grateful to have them.

He visited Ole Miss twice last year along with Arkansas and Mississippi State.

He’d like to visit USC in the future.

“I was born in Cali,” he said. “I just want to go back.”

Barker would be “for sure” interested in hearing and learning more about Notre Dame.

YOUNG FL CB WORTH WATCHING: Amari Jones‍ may only be a freshman, but the 2026 Florida athlete is poised to be a true national prospect.

The Dunnellon High School standout already has offers from Florida State, South Carolina and South Florida.

He’s also hearing from other Power-5 programs.

“I've been receiving mail from Oklahoma, Penn State, Georgia Tech,” he said.

“I'm a freshman right now, so right now, it's going good. It's slowly going, but it's going to turn up.”

The 6-foot, 160-pounder cornerback/receiver said college coaches like what they’ve seen from the youngster on both sides of the ball.

“They like how I can use my feet better at DB and on both sides of the ball,” he said. “I'm fast, I'm physical, I can be patient, my route-running is good and they like that I'm good in academics too.

He doesn’t know much about Notre Dame yet, but would be interested in hearing and learning more.

He does know what he’s looking for in a college.

“I'm looking forward to see the best relationships I got with coaches, who is going develop me the best and just put their time in me.”
