It’s been quite a spring for Blake Hebert‍.

The 2025 Massachusetts quarterback has exploded on the national recruiting scene in a major way, earning offers from Virginia, Nebraska, Pitt, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, Ole Miss, Minnesota, Iowa, Boston College, Purdue, Penn State, Illinois, Clemson and Auburn since May.

And on Saturday, the Central Catholic High School star added an offer from Notre Dame.

“I was excited,” the 6-foot-3, 215-pounder told Irish Sports Daily. “Obviously, Notre Dame's pretty historical and everything. Obviously, there are Hollywood movies made about, right? So, it was definitely exciting.”

Hebert landed the offer while in South Bend on an unofficial visit.

“It was awesome,” he said of the trip. “We had a really good time. We saw the whole campus and saw facilities and everything. It was really good.

“As we were touring, we got asked to go into Coach (Marcus) Freeman's office. We sat in there and talked for about 25 minutes and that's when they offered me.”

Freeman made quite the impression.

“I like him a lot,” said Hebert. “You can tell he is a really good coach and gets along really well with all of his players.”

Hebert also spent plenty of time with Irish quarterbacks coach Gino Guidugli.

“Coach Gino's awesome,” he said. “We talked X's & O's for probably about an hour at the end before I left. He was really good. I like him a lot as a coach and as a person.

“They kind of just showed me how they're going to be doing things this upcoming season and a couple of their concepts and how they attack each coverage.”

Hebert didn’t get the chance to sit down with Notre Dame offensive coordinator Gerad Parker, who was tied up with the weekend’s official visitors, but the two did connect on the phone Sunday.

“Same story,” Hebert said. “I like him a lot.”

Hebert also had the opportunity to reconnect with his former Central Catholic teammate and current Irish linebacker Preston Zinter, who has said he’s been loving his experience at Notre Dame so far.

The only visit Hebert has left on his calendar for now is North Carolina next weekend.

But he is looking forward to returning to South Bend this fall.

“I'd love to get back out to a game, maybe a night game or something. I think that'll be awesome.”
