As a 2026 prospect, Ryelan Morris‍ still has a long way to go with his recruiting process, but at least a dozen schools have decided against waiting any longer to offer the Texas running back.

The Honey Grove High School star has 12 offers from schools like Texas Tech, Baylor, Missouri, Michigan State, Miami, Purdue and Vanderbilt among others.

“It's definitely a blessing,” Morris says. “I have to make sure that I stay humble though. It's definitely cool to think about.”

Morris has a connection to Notre Dame through current Irish running back JD Price as they share the same trainer, Sean Cooper of C4 Sports Performance.

“We didn't really have a relationship, but I've always looked up to him coming from around the same area,” Morris said of Price. “He has been a big role model.

“I think it was probably the best school for him. It was the right fit for him.”

The 5-foot-10, 170-pounder doesn’t know a ton of specifics about Notre Dame, but it’s a school he’d be excited to have as an option.

“I know it has a good program,” he said. “The education there is at a high level.

“It'd mean a lot to be able to have the same opportunities as JD. I know he's been great there, done great things.”

Morris has already visited several schools, including Oklahoma, TCU, Baylor and SMU among others.

He expects to hit the road again this year “whenever opportunities come.”

Morris did say he would prioritize the schools that have already offered him when it comes to visits.

“Just making sure that it's the right fit for me, make sure I can build a family there, make sure they're running a good program, doing good things, getting out into community, community service and stuff like that.”
