Notre Dame "A Favorite" For 2026 LB Thomas Davis Jr. After Visit
Thomas Davis Jr., made a trip to South Bend on Thursday and Notre Dame made quite the impression on the 2026 North Carolina linebacker.
“It was great,” the Weddington High School star told Irish Sports Daily afterward.
“I enjoyed every part of the visit; from watching practice to the campus to sitting down with coaches. I loved it all.”
The 6-foot-2, 205-pounder enjoyed taking in the Irish’s practice session.
“Just the way things flowed and seeing the guys pick up on stuff and learn things, make adjustments to what their plan was,” he said.
Davis Jr., also appreciated the campus tour.
“It was great overall,” he said. “I enjoyed the campus.”
Davis Jr. announced his Notre Dame offer on Pot of Gold Day last month. He also has offers from schools like North Carolina, NC State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Miami, Ole Miss, Penn State, LSU and USC among several others.
While in South Bend, he spent much of his time with linebackers coach Max Bullough and defensive coordinator Al Golden.
“Basically, just the start of building a relationship and making sure to let me know that they're going to recruit me heavy,” Davis Jr., said of the message from the Notre Dame staff.
“They want me to come back and spend more time there and just start building a relationship.”
Davis Jr.,said he will “definitely” be back.
“I don't know when exactly; maybe summer, maybe for a game,” he said. “We'll see.
He called both coaches “great.”
“They all seem exactly like they knew what they were talking about, so I definitely loved that,” he said. “Coach Golden, he's a great guy. Coach Bullough, great guy, knows what he's talking about. I can definitely see myself being around them in the future.”
Davis Jr., will head to Miami for a visit on Friday, but doesn’t have anything else locked in beyond that.
As for the Irish, it’s clear they moved up his list.
“Definitely a favorite so far.”
