WHAT TO WATCH

Sunday will be a crucial game for Notre Dame’s postseason hopes as the Irish enter the day as the No. 12 team in the ACC, which means they would be the last seed in the ACC Tournament. Boston College has dropped two games this weekend to Louisville and has allowed the Irish to slide up the conference standings. 

Once again, it’s a spot Notre Dame shouldn’t be in, but the program is showing some fight to extend the season. 

The bats came alive on Saturday, which was much needed for Notre Dame as the Irish dropped 15 runs on the Panthers. David Glancy led the way going 4-for-6 with three doubles, one home run and five RBI on the day.

Estevan Moreno hit home run No. 12 on the year as he looks to try to catch Glancy (13) for the team lead in Domer Dingers. 

Game three will come down to offense once again. Pitt is a program Notre Dame should be able to outscore, especially at home. The Irish are in a good place with its bullpen heading into Sunday so it sets up for Notre Dame to finish the weekend strong if they can find a way to get an early lead. 

Notre Dame scored three first inning runs on Saturday and put pressure on Pitt. They will have a chance to do the same Sunday as Pitt’s starter Ryan Reed is 0-5 on the year and holds an ERA of 6.47.
