3 Areas Notre Dame's Defense Will Improve in 2017

It’s a good news, bad news situation with Notre Dame’s defense.
The good news for Notre Dame defensive coordinator Mike Elko is that he is inheriting a defense that has nowhere to go but up in several categories.
That could also be construed as bad news.
The defense has a long way to go for them to be the defense he wants them to be and one that Irish fans want to see this season. They were 118th in sacks, 106th in tackles for loss, 93rd in interceptions, and 78th in forced fumbles.
