CaSaan Dixon‍ wanted to make it to Notre Dame last fall, but the 2019 Virginia athlete wasn’t able to.

“It didn’t work schedule-wise,” the 6-foot-1, 185-pounder said.

But that’s OK, the Portsmouth, Va., native will get the chance to visit South Bend for the Irish’s spring game on April 21st.

“During the season, they sent a letter to the school and my head coach gave it to me. It all started from there,” he said of the interest from the Irish.

“They’ve been sending me letters and emails.”

Dixon has offers from North Carolina State, Old Dominion and Liberty with interest from schools like Duke, Wake Forest, Georgia and Purdue.

“It just feels good to have three good offers right now,” he said. “I’ve just got to keep grinding to get more.

“They like that I can play a lot of positions and have talent at every position I play.”

In addition to playing cornerback, Dixon has played some quarterback and has been featured as a kick and punt returner, although he doesn’t have a positional preference at this point.

He’s excited about seeing Notre Dame.

“I know it’s a high Division-I school and a good academic school,” said Dixon. “Touchdown Jesus, I want to get to see that.”

The I.C. Norcom High School standout has made visits to Richmond and Old Dominion with stops at Georgia and Duke coming in the future as well.

He doesn’t know what he wants to major in just yet, but does know that academics will be a factor in his college decision.

“My life after football in case it doesn’t work out with me getting to the NFL.”
