Darren Agu (Defensive End) was a bit of surprise verbal commitment to Notre Dame's class of 2022. Agu is considered to be a project with great physical traits and, if he pans out, a tremendous upside.

This is a surprise commit because ND already has two solid DE recruits in the class of 2022 and are also in on a couple of highly coveted DE prospects (DJ Wesolak and Cyrus Moss). With the commitments at DE last year, the common thought was three DE recruits was plenty. Ford and Gobaira are a great start. Adding Wesolak or Moss would have been the cherry on top.

So, where does ND go from here? What now? I think if either Wesolak (92 in ESPNs top 100) or Moss (79 in ESPNs top 100) want to commit to Notre Dame, you can't pass on them. You take one and live with 4 defensive ends in this class. Not the worst thing that can happen.

Wesolak seems to be cooling on the Irish (or ND cooling on Wesolak). Moss still seems to be high on ND. ND should take either one of these two if they want to commit. They are top 100 recruits at positions that ND doesn't always recruit elite talent at.
