Notre Dame vs. Ohio State Visitor List
Christian reported some Notre Dame targets visiting Columbus earlier this week and here is a full list of who will be in The Shoe this weekend. A few notes
- Marcus Freeman and Chris O'Leary will be in Las Vegas tonight for the NFL Draft to support Kyle Hamilton. - Arizona State WR transfer Ricky Pearsall is a prospect Notre Dame was not going to pursue, but now they are fully engaged in getting him to visit. He's not a graduate transfer, so obviously as everyone knows, it's complicated there for Notre Dame, but the fact they have done a 180 is a good sign overall. Pearsall recorded 48 catches, 580 receiving yards and four touchdowns last year for the Sun Devils. - 2023 offensive lineman Austin Siereveld announced a commitment date for May 4th on Wednesday fresh off a visit to Notre Dame. After talking to sources on both sides, I'd lean towards Ohio State as of now. He's a kid that hasn't said much, but I do know the pull to stay home is large and the Buckeyes have made it a significant point of emphasis to keep him in-state with Joshua Padilla and Luke Montgomery. - I posted a story on 2024 safety Marquis Gallegos this morning. It's early, but he absolutely loved everything he saw at Notre Dame. It's a bit early to throw in a prediction, but he's officially a name to watch as Gallegos will have no problem leaving the West Coast. Like I said it's early and USC is pushing for him as Lincoln Riley is making it point to recruit SoCal kids hard, but Gallegos is open to Notre Dame. - Notre Dame defensive GA James Laurinaitis seems to be making positive impressions around the program in his short time in South Bend. Players raved about him in interviews, but recruits have also spoken highly of him. It has to be a little weird for him still, but I think he has a bright future based on early feedback. Big scratch for the weekend
I'm told 2023 Findlay (Ohio) offensive lineman Luke Montgomery and 2025 QB Ryan Montgomery are a scratch for this weekend. The family won't be visiting anywhere this weekend, but Michigan and Ohio State have been trending as of late. Montgomery did indicate to Notre Dame he wanted to be recruited as an offensive lineman recently as we reported and obviously the Irish have been in transition mode there. We'll see what happens down the road, but I don't believe the brothers are a package deal at this point.

National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a Irish Sports Daily rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the Irish Sports Daily Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide Irish Sports Daily readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Notre Dame and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Notre Dame and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
