2022 DB Xavier Nwankpa Sets ND Visit
I'm told 2022 Southeast Polk (Iowa) safety Xavier Nwankpa will be at the Notre Dame-USC game for an unofficial visit and it will be his third time on campus. The four-star prospect will also take his official visit to Iowa in October and then head to Ohio State following his visit to Notre Dame. I think Notre Dame and Iowa have pulled ahead of Ohio State, but it'd be foolish to count the Buckeyes out as they can change things in a hurry. It definitely helps the Buckeyes aren't playing good football on defense and the staff is anything but stable. Notre Dame has been smart in this one as they've paced themselves and stayed consistent here. As we've told you for months, Chris O'Leary is proving he can go head-to-head with the big boys and regardless of if Nwankpa signs with the Irish, it's a good sign moving forward for the first-year coach. Quick note on Xavier Nwankpa
Just touched base with a source and Notre Dame is going all out on Friday. Brian Kelly, Marcus Freeman, Chris O'Leary, Mike Mickens, and John McNulty will be headed to Iowa to see 2022 Southeast Polk (Iowa) safety Xavier Nwankpa take on 2022 Notre Dame TE commit Eli Raridon. It should send a very clear message how much he's wanted as obviously, Notre Dame opens the season in Tallahassee on Sunday night. Notre Dame continues to be in a good spot here and it's on the staff to make him see the fit at Notre Dame. The five-star prospect is the rare case of fitting incredibly well at Notre Dame and Ohio State, so it will be an interesting to see how both programs along with Iowa and Texas A&M play their cards. And if you missed it, Nwankpa caught a hail mary to win the season opener on Friday. WOW. Jaxon Dailey hits Xavier Nwankpa on a 38-yard Hail Mary at the gun to win it. Dailey rolls out, uncorks a bomb, Nwankpa fights off defenders, hauls it in. Unreal play. Unreal finish. Rivals Top 250 for 2022 Updated
Rivals continues to struggle with quality evaluations. Notre Dame fine in this update, but while rankings are exact science by any means, I think I struggle with Rivals the most over the last few years. Notre Dame Offers and Targets14. S Xavier Nwankpa +2019. OL Zach Rice -131. LB Jaylen Sneed +14 - Notre Dame (2 spots away from five-star status)45. WR CJ Williams -17 - Notre Dame80. DL Anthony Lucas +6787. DL Hero Kanu -889. DE Cyrus Moss -195. DB Austin Ausberry _105104. DE Tyson Ford -14 - Notre Dame114. OL Ty Chan +75 - Notre Dame126. OL Billy Schrauth -10156. LB Joshua Burnham -17 - Notre Dame159. LB Niuafe Tuihalamaka -16 - Notre Dame161. WR Tobias Merriweather -7 - Notre Dame186. OL Joey Tanona -1 - Notre Dame203. OL Aamil Wagner -9 240. RB JD Price -5 - Notre DameThoughts- OSU RB commit Dallan Hayden dropped 60 spots to 237. Don't get it. - Not sure I see the love for 2022 North Carolina DE commit Beau Atkinson to move up 79 spots to 153. - I don't agree with OL Julian Armella being the No. 4 player in the country. Would have a long list of OL better now and with higher ceilings. Despite most of Notre Dame commits falling, the Irish did improve its class score.

National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a Irish Sports Daily rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the Irish Sports Daily Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide Irish Sports Daily readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1
