Notre Dames Misses Cut for Top 2022 OL
2022 Gulliver Prep (Fla.) offensive lineman Julian Armella was offered earlier this winter by Notre Dame, but the Fighting Irish missed the cut when the 6-foot-6, 305-pounder trimmed his list on Tuesday. The four-star prospect will focus on Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State and Tennessee moving forward. It would surprise me somewhat if he left the South despite having Michigan and Ohio State on his list. It was going to be tough battle for Notre Dame to get him on campus, so this wasn't overly surprising. https://www.hudl.com/video/3/11312534/5da5370019a6a40e60211f91

Quick note on new 2022 offer Julian Armella
Just spoke with 2022 St. Thomas Aquinas (Fla.) offensive lineman Julian Armella and he was excited to get an offer from Notre Dame. The first thing he brought up was Notre Dame's success developing players on the OL and it was an offer he had to have. However, he didn't mention who you would think first....he mentioned from STA star and Notre Dame OL Sam Young, who he has worked with previously. Armella is a Notre Dame kid and it would shock me if Notre Dame wasn't in the race for him.

National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a Irish Sports Daily rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the Irish Sports Daily Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide Irish Sports Daily readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Notre Dame and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Notre Dame and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
