It may be a bit calm on the national recruiting scene this weekend, but that will change soon enough.

Two Top 2023 Prospects Names Top 12
2023 IMG Academy (Fla.) ATH Samuel M'Pemba and 2023 Robbinsdale Cooper (Minn.) TE Jaxon Howard have released their top 12 groups and Notre Dame made the cut for both prospects.M'Pemba will focus on: Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Missouri, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Penn State and Texas A&MHoward's top 12: Alabama, Arizona State, Florida, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, Stanford and USCM'Pemba has always spoken highly of Mike Elston and Notre Dame. He's a kid that fits well into Notre Dame, but he'll need to visit.Howard visited Notre Dame (and every other school in the country) during a crazy June. If I were to guess, I'd say if he cut it to six schools, Notre Dame would likely be in the mix. If Notre Dame wants to remain in this one and take a second tight end, Howard returning to campus is a must. Other Sept. 1st Notes
2023 Virginia DL Mathias Barnwell tells me he heard from Notre Dame. Barnwell and his family were blown away by a summer trip to Notre Dame. Hard to overstate how much they enjoyed themselves. The Irish told Barnwell they were excited to be able to reach out to him directly and to start really building a relationship.2023 Irish defensive back commit Adon Shuler had a similar call with Notre Dame. Even though he visited and committed to ND last month, now that Notre Dame can contact him directly, they will be build that bond even more.2023 RB Justice Haynes, OL Chase Bisontis, TE Jaxon Howard and LB Ta'Mere Robinson told me they also heard from the Irish today.

National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a Irish Sports Daily rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the Irish Sports Daily Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide Irish Sports Daily readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Notre Dame and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Notre Dame and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
